Yes, yes and again I say yes. You tried to work it out with the hotel, but your attempt proved futile. Time is too precious to waste it with the hotel when that's what your credit card company can do on your behalf. Make sure you have all your documentation in order showing the refund policy and when you cancelled and give your credit card company a call.
