I would suggest a very moderate and factual letter marked for the personal attention of Rod Eddington, with a hint of a threat to get in touch with the press (perhaps the Sunbday Times travel ediotr) if no suitable "explanation" (in other words offer of compensation) is forhcoming. I would be fascinated to see what the response is.
