I recently flew on AM. The outbound flights posted about a week after I completed them; the return never posted. I called the DM desk and asked them to look into this missing credit. They contacted SkyMiles support; I was then told to submit a mileage request on the DL.com website. I did just that and got an email a few hours later with the following:

"Hello UVAhoo06,

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to your concern. We very much appreciate your loyalty to Delta and engaging in our SkyMiles program. We have reviewed your request for mileage credit and are unable to process due to your SkyMiles account status not being active. It is always difficult to provide a less-than-favorable response to a customer, so we encourage you to visit SkyMiles Help for more information on account recovery. Once in an active status, you are welcome to re-submit your request for mileage credit.

Thank you again for your loyalty to Delta. We look forward to the privilege of serving you again soon.

Uhhh...I'm a DM and have been flying for awhile now. In fact, I redeemed miles for a ticket just a few days ago. So, as you can imagine, this email was shocking. I filled out the form again--this time making sure that everything, including my Skymiles number, was filled in correctly. I got the same email again.

Finally, I called the DM desk again and said that I did what the previous DM agent suggested (i.e., submit the online form). They assured me that my account was in good standing and was confused just as much as I was. They put me on hold and reached out to Skymiles support and let me know that their colleague resubmitted the form. The return flights (properly credited) showed up within an hour.

Who the heck is responding to the online submissions?!
