Hello everyone. This is my first post in the forum but I have been reading for a while. As things stand right now, I will have the 10K MQDs (including the Amex Delta Skymiles Platinum Headstart) for Gold Medallion in 2025. I have not yet converted my rollover MQMs and if I did so I would get to 12086 MQDs - well short of the $15k. Now one thing I do have is a significant estimated tax bill and I could cover the shortfall by spending $58,280 into my Amex ($20 to 1 MQD), this would be $57474 in taxes plus $1046 in processing fees.

The obvious question: is the difference between Platinum Medallion and Gold Medallion worth $1046?. Of course I would get 58.2k redeemable miles which are worth about $582 (possibly more) so it's really more like $464. I think 4 RUCs are probably wort more than those $400.

But, I wanted to check my math and if possible get insight from the forum,
