there are sometimes problems if you fly on one airline and credit to the FF program of another airline...you never know, which of the two partners is at fault....
I agree with you that in an issue like this it is difficult to work out which (or both) of the partners is at fault for failing to credit miles.
I spoke to Turkish (TK) and they told me that Thai (TG) rejected my claim because the names on my booking and TK membership did not match. I contacted TG and was also told the names did not match. When I challenged them on this, they said as I was not a member of Royal Orchid Plus (ROP), they could not help. TK fixed the claim for me.
My first name, middle name and surname were identical. The only difference was that my Thai booking and boarding card included my title (Mr). As far as I remember, title is a required field on the Thai booking form. I don't think any of my frequent flyer account names include my title.
On the same trip, I used Singapore Airlines for long haul and the miles were credited to TK immediately after completion of each sector. My name on both Thai and Singapore was identical, apart from the Mr bit.
