There are indeed airlines that have extra-space rows in several parts of the Economy cabin (not just in the front ... where these rows are really only with extra space because they can become part of the business class cabin based on the position of th MCD), like TUI Fly. The creativity of airline managers to confuse guests, make processes even more complex and press extra Euros out of the flying community is unlimited these days.
Maybe the first rows after exit really do have 30" instead of 29" because they couldn't fit 30" for row 7 to exit.
Interesting IB makes exit rows non XL though?
