Your suggestions make sense. Until Marriott Bonvoy changes the rules, if ever, we have to abide by the current restrictions. I can't recall if Chase IHG FNA's have the same restrictions. I just used my last Chase IHG FNA, otherwise I would make a dummy reservation to see if I could add a name to it. If both IHG and Marriott Chase FNA's have the same restriction, perhaps it is Chase that has prohibited them from being transferred.
