Staying here currently for one night. I am a Diamond and used a FNC to stay here. The entrance is to the side of McDonalds and is a little low key. Check-in is on 9th floor. There are two more elevators to the right of the main one over by the stairs. Check in was straight forward and I was welcomed as a diamond but was given no upgraded room though I got a high level floor with a decent view. In the hotel's defense they were booked pretty solid and weren't showing any upgraded rooms when I checked in. Looking at the photos of the King Esperanza above the only difference I can see between it and my base level room is a little bit of extra width allowing for a bench at the end of the bed which I don't have. Otherwise the rooms darn look identical to me, so no great loss with no upgrade to me as a solo traveler. No welcome gift unless the free cocktail cert was it but a nice letter from hotel manager.
I agree with prior reviews the bed is very comfortable and the room is very quiet with minimal noise from Grand Via and adjoining rooms and the HVAC is inaudible. I stayed at the JW Marriott when I arrived and though I was upgraded over there to a bigger room I honestly think for my purposes the Hilton is better bang for the buck.
Edit to add: Also decent internet speeds. A couple of other local hotels I have stayed in Spain have had pretty awful internet, one boarding on the unusable at least in my room (it was just ok in the lobby area).
Edit 2: Breakfast was excellent. With both made to order and buffett. Overall breakfast here was much better than at JW Marriott which is surprising given the relative cash costs at least when I was staying. Also for those of us who pee at night not a fan of the auto lights in the commode area. I really don't like the blast of light at 2 am. If traveling with somebody the glass door does nothing to block the light entering the sleeping area.
