A bag I may be but being referred to as a Crew Hag I object!
The exact same thing happened to me at Madrid Barajas - when we leave for Alicante we do check a bag as we are gone for 6-7 weeks. We drive down as the car hire costs less from Madrid. We were waiting for some considerable time and nobody's bags had appeared. We finally got someone to check and they found that they had been delivered to another carousel which by now has been turned off.
Since reading and learning here, I have Air Tags for all items of luggage
and spare batteries as they often give out when you most need them. Moreover I have photographs of everything that we carry on journeys - especially my beloved's handbag. Try describing that to baggage lost and found when he has left it on the aircraft and you feel like murdering him!
