It was less frequent for me, but they definitely ask about reservations at peak times. I was on occasion asked to show my boarding pass to the guy standing at the gate, I'm guessing they have an issue with non-travelers parking in the lot.
I'm glad that they (ParkSFO) ask for a boarding pass, as I see it as a security enhancement.
It's all about the discounts here!
I hasten to add that ParkSFO still offers multi-day discounts. (Hope those don't go away!)
