Y to J upgrade on AY long haul in my experience usually cost about 700eu, which of course fluctuates a bit according to the loading. But my experience is limited on Asian routes that nowadays last 12-14hrs long.
If they ask only 350eu for Y to J on Asian routes, that is very rare, a price of exception, even in Pre-Covid era. With a cash upgrade as low as this there is no reason to use Aviso 😅
BKK and JFK in both directions have roughly been that price, give or take a few euros since avios kicked in.
Weirdly I had a booking where the ticket was issued by AA and therefore they could not upgrade me with avios. HEL-LHR would have been 420 eur at the checkin desk and the JFK-HEL return was 690 at the gate. That was a hard pass.
