On paper, Ryzen processors should put out less heat and use less power compared to their Intel counterparts. With it being a laptop, unfortunately cooling lands in the laptop engineers' hands, not AMDs. The issue of poor thermals has been a real problem for some manufacturers ::cough::Apple::cough::, although HP also has had issues too. I've not heard much about Dell or Lenovo and poor thermal management.

No matter the laptop, if I'm planning on typing anything decent, I break out a mechanical keyboard and set it on top of the laptop. Nice clicky blue keyswitches and full-sized, full-travel keys are a dream to type on. At home and at my office I still use the old-school IBM Model M keyboards. I've not found anything better.
