I don't have any other AMD systems to compare notes with, as I've always ponied up the extra $ for Intel from the early days when AMD was truly inferior. Google Earth errors out with a message relating to the graphics drivers. I've tried the drivers from Asus' website, as well as from AMD's site.. doesn't improve anything. Even out-of-the-box, factory fresh, it didn't work. I'm also not terribly impressed with the AMD CPU's performance, especially single-thread.
On Lenovo, the FN key can be swapped in the BIOS to give you a normal keyboard, btw.
I don't have a current AMD system, otherwise I'd offer to check. In the (distant past) the problem I had with AMD was the extra heat and energy issues. But the last system I had with a Ryzen system was an HP laptop (and the problem was with the battery). The Intel version had the same problem as well so my conclusion would have been the battery chemistry (but that doesn't work either because even a third party battery... unless it came from the same factory). Softwarewise, it was a solid machine. It ran my VMs without issue. What was the GPU if you don't mind me asking...
As for the KB swap, I tried it, the change still feels weird to me for some reason. I might go buy a new KB because of this (FWP I know)
