I just walk up to the door and board right behind the wheelchair pax.
On one of the legs of my most recent trip, the GAs started F boarding almost immediately after the pre-board period ended (which was when I passed through the gate), and I almost got knocked over when I was putting my carry-on in the overhead bin.
