Trying to decide between the Regent and the IC Sanlitum. We will be in Beijing for the first time and will stay for four nights. I understadt that the location of the Regent may be better as all the touristy-sites are nearby, however I really enjoy being in a lively area with bars and restaurants. I think the Intercontinental may be better than the Regent in this case?
Sadly, SLT has almost completely transformed into an amalgamation of souless shopping malls (common trend in China), but it's still far better than downtown wrt bars and restaurants.
