In a total contrast to the German rail company, Deutsche Bahn, Frankfurt airport was a model of civilized efficiency (I never ever thought I'd see myself write that about FRA) and SWISS followed suit with a perfectly on time flight. There was even some time for a quick business lounge visit near gate A01, where the flight to Geneva was scheduled to leave from. The lounge was very crowded but somehow ok and the food was quite good - pulled pork, Käsespätzle, sauerkraut, Gulasch soup - and I had a glass of wine from the Scheurebe grape.

Boarding was a civilized process even though boarding groups were not called and I was quickly on the Airbus 220 aircraft. It looked like it would be quite full but in reality half the seats were unoccupied. The flight itself was quite pleasant, flying up the Rhine valley to Basel with clear views of Heidelberg, Karlsruhe and more. The inflight service consisted of the usual bottle of water and Swiss chocolates, not so bad for such a short flight, but there was no interaction with the crew whatsoever. They rolled the trolley down the aisle and didn't make the slightest effort to sell anything, although just one person bought a biscuit which surprised me. So, uptake of this rubbish overpriced service concept appears to be practically zero. I asked for a second bottle of water and, to my amazement, got it.
