Sorry if this has been asked before or is not the place for this.

I'm flying WN from DEN -> LAX. Then a few hours later flying FJ from LAX -> NAN on business class.

I'm not checking anything on the DEN -> LAX leg. Carry-on and personal item only. My carry-on is appropriately sized for WN. But FJ has a limit of 2 carry-on bags. Weight limit 7 kg per bag. Considering my carry-on weighs 3.5 kg by itself this weight limit isn't very realistic for me.

Once I get to LAX is it possible for me to check my bag and get my ticket airside at the gate desk? Or do I need to leave the secure area, check my bag and get ticket at the counter, and go through security again?
