Perishable food gets tossed and incinerated to prevent the spread of pathogens.
I've been on multiple flights where the crew voluntarily gave me and my wife bottles of wine to take home. Multiple full unopened bottles on more than one occasion. And my last flight we were offered a buffet of water bottles to take home. Just got me wondering why.
