There would need to be award availability on the later flight for it to be at all possible. The other part is that it matter what miles you booked the award with, as different airline programs may have different rules regarding changes. Did you book through Qatar Privilege Club?
Your ticket will not include access to Al Safwa, but the Al Mourjan Lounges. While they are nice lounges, I am not sure I would want to add over 5 hours to my stop just experience a lounge. Of course there are two, but maybe do one in either direction if you are returning through Doha.

Thanks! I did book through Privilege Club and last time I called I did confirm that there was award availability on the flight I wanted to switch to, but the agent said the entire flight (LAX-DOH-SGN) would have to be available to book. Didnt really make sense to me but they weren't budging.
I thought it was available for J passengers but I just checked the access eligibility and looks like you're right, did this change recently? Anyways looks like I'll be sticking with my connection
