Does anyone have any idea why United's fares to Micronesia have suddenly tripled? I had watched the business class fares from the US to Guam for about 6 months and they didn't hover off of about $5400 round trip. When our dates finally became available to book, they are now $14,000 round trip. We ended up doing miles on the outbound. The return from Palau to the US through March 6, 2025 was $3,900 one way. Now it's jumped to over $8,000 for returns after March 8 (we need to return March 22). Has anyone seen this happen before? I'm just wondering whether this is a temporary glitch or whether UA has truly tripled their fares and are price gouging because they are the only game in town.
