What exactly are you trying to do? Book a new ticket or change an existing one? In general, no secret phases, just be very clear what you're asking for, e.g., "hi, I'd like to book flight SK XYZ on XYZ date from AAA to BBB." I usually find live chat or Twitter DM to be better for communicating these types of requests, so that I can spell everything out clearly in writing and leave no room for ambiguity or miscommunication, especially if I'm trying to book a native flight number that UA.com offers as a UA codeshare.
