Quality was high: was in a suite which was very comfortable and well appointed though views were not great (not bad but not iconic either). Service was very good (especially by a French girl from Perpignan at reception!) drink voucher could be used for the excellent First Ladies cocktails (though some were unavailable). Only disappointments were breakfast which was just ok and restaurant/room service (same menu) with limited choice and expensive.

location is basically 2 blocks behind (north of) the White House so maybe 10 min walk to the mall or so. Dc is pretty compact anyway so to me at least everything is walkable if you enjoy using your feet. Capitol Hill and Georgetown is probably furthest you’d go as a tourist but each would be maybe 30-45 mins pleasant walk away, a bit less for Jefferson memorial across the Potomac.
