Thanks for the replies, my guess was that the agent was just having a bad day but doubled down when I called them out. Everything else was great, even with the Eclipse traffic.

I had that experience before where the manager in a small airport was training a new hire and I asked the manager to switch to my Alaska number (since it had status and my AA didn't at the time and was checking bags). He said he cannot do that plus he is the manager so it cannot be done and was going to charge for the bags. I stepped out of line and text chatted with AA to change the number and confirmed that the manager should be able to do that. Got back in line and showered the manager the chat (without his trainee to keep him from embarrassment) and suggested he just learn how to do it and I don't want to write a complaint against him.
