Every time we passed a major exit, the traffics get less and less. The reverse is true on the return trip. It's not my first time seeing total eclipse, but the return trip was epic lol. A10 was showing red from about 10km west of Bromont all the way to Montreal. Even the 112 had noticeably more traffic and got jammed from Chambly/Carignan. Long line up to get on the A30, and then the most epic ever line up I have seen from Taschereau to J-Cartier bridge. Someone decided to close the two northbound lanes on the bridge for maintenance work so the only northbound lane was the central lane. 4 hours from Sherbrooke to Montreal lol.

On another note, the Townships (and pretty much most parts of Quebec other than Old Montreal, Old Quebec, Laurentides) are wayyy underrated.
