DL 1218 was good. The eclipse was nearly directly overhead so you really needed to contort in order to get a decent view. Left side was definitely worse than the right. The pilot banked right and then left (as opposed to right hand loop on 1010). Also 1218 flew at 37,000 ft while 1010 was at 31,000 ft. Apparently ATC was a real wildcard as to whether they would let them do these maneuvers with the tremendous amount of other air traffic in the area. I was really hoping to see the shadow of the moon, but it was not readily identifiable. I’m glad I did it, but I don’t think I’d do it again. The best part by far was the camaraderie on board.
