That can't work for partner lounges. For example, a no status pax in Y with a status pass on their PNR, flying AC out of SFO, will have that indicator on their BP. And they will be permitted in the MLL. But they do not have access to the UC.
I don't know if they can print lounge access for partner operated segments on the BPs, but UA certainly isn't going to print "you have access to the MLL but not the UC".
The marketing around EWR access is poor. But I think they could fix that more easily than trying to print weird things on BPs for partner segments.
