Don't argue that it has an impact to your trip, but there is a reason Marriott Bonvoy's T&Cs require the hotel to be open for their guarantees to be enforced. Opening delays are common and usually outside the hotel's control. It might be nice if Marriott were to help you find another hotel close by and give you a discount, but I wouldn't count on it. In fact, I wouldn't count on any "comp". Maybe if you press the issue they might throw a few thousand points your way, but I wouldn't push that hard for something like this as it could burn a bridge you might need later for an issue that was within a hotel's purview.
