These are certainly fascinating times for SAS, no matter if you appreciate the alliance switch or you don't. Hopefully the integration goes smoothly. For SAS' sake, codeshares and interline agreements with major SkyTeam partners should be up-and-running sooner rather than later, especially for the transatlantic venture. Being CPH-based, it is also interesting to see what the switch will do to the airport's route network, I can imagine some huge changes incoming at the change to winter schedule in late-October.

The "benefits with most members"-thing sounds like SAS foreseeing some integration issues and that not all agreements and systems will be ready alliance-wide on September 1st.
