I got food poisoning off a VS PE meal - it was a Chinese three cup chicken with rice.

It began about 10 hours after I'd eaten it. Hadn't really eaten anything else in that timeframe so I'd definitely attribute it to them. Luckily I'd just managed to drive home from LHR in time for the fireworks to begin.

I contacted Virgin - they sent me a standard response letter asking for all kinds of info. Their response was basically a legal document to provide evidence and no acknowledgement of anything beyond that.

I wasn't after compo but an apology would have been in order.

Short of having the remnants of the meal sent for testing, I doubt there's a whole lot you can do and you won't get anything even hinting at accepting liability or even a general apology from them.
