I just booked my first PG flight using Avios, through Qatar PC.
It was for BKK-USM end of May, so longer than 30 days.
I still haven't worked out how far forward flights are released on PG for redemption through partners.

Searched for availability through Air France - and then called QR to book.
strangely availability on Air France was very similar, but not exactly what QRagent could see - but I'm not convinced the agent had done it before. (example: Air France could see 2 seats, QR only 1. Air France could see a whole flight with one seat, but QR couldn't see it.)

Anyway, in the end I booked BKK-USM for 6,000 Avios, plus 130thb (4usd approx). Decent value for me... cash flights were 5,000thb one way for this date.
Cancellation terms not great for a relatively cheap car flight - I dropped from Gold to Silver. I was told cancellation on Gold was free, but with silver it's 25usd if you cancel more than 24 hours in advance.
