It's probably not an "upgrade offer" then if you did it that way. Rather it's just paying the fare difference from J to F. On the upside though, paying the fare difference rather than buying an offer would have got you extra baggage, AS access and more avios/qpoints
Interesting. Don’t know. When I checked in on the app for my outbound USA-DOH, I was offered to upgrade DOH-BKK from J to F, again at $1330. No thanks.
If I had done it, do I understand correctly a poster above as saying I would not get Al-Safwa?
My connection is short so it’s not an issue for me anyway. But I am curious about the rules, for a future trip maybe.
