I 100% completely believe what you wrote. What I had question about was if the manager of a brand new property was properly informed or not.
Ritz Carlton Waikiki provides limited participation where you can earn and redeem points. They don't officially provide upgrade, amenity, breakfasts, and late checkout although some FTers have received upgrades and late checkouts. I have stayed a few times and the only elite benefit I received was late checkouts.
BTW, does Renaissance Residence Honolulu have a Club Lounge?
