I haven't looked at any of the press links, but noted that the initial Twitter/X video was posted around 1300BST, which wasn't too long after G-VDIA landed.. I might have missed it above, but has there been any 'official' confirmation yet as to whether the 789 was coming into the gate, or was being pushed back out of it when the collision occurred?
There are some images showing the port wing/engine well over the hatched gate markings, which I assume are no-go areas?
Yes a few posts have identified what’s been happening. See post 19 and someone else mentioned the hatched markings up thread. It was a push back. Looking at the photos and what was said up thread about the hatched markings, its clear the aircraft was not in the correct positioning to manoeuvre out without hitting the BA aircraft, not that I know much at all about that but there’s enough lines on the tarmac to see if it’s misaligned!
