That sounds perfectly reasonable. My company wouldn't allow it, but there is no harm in it.
I always try to look at what I would think acceptable if I owned the company.
Many times I have extended trips *after* the work commitment so I can have a holiday somewhere. The flights are cheaper as a result because they include a Saturday night.
Choosing circuitous OneWorld routings I also think is ok as long as the cost is less than the direct flight you would have booked otherwise and you only waste your own time doing it.
But I know some people who have sailed close to the wind with work travel and at least one who lost his job because of it. The more you fiddle things beyond the straighforward and 'get away with it' the more you feel that is your right and stop looking at it from the business's point of view.
I'm not saying this applies in your case, but it's why most companies now seem to outsource travel organisation. You might not get the best outcome for the employee or the employer, but it's a fair system. The longer you can stay away from Concur the nicer your work travel will be
