Bad experience yesterday; crowded, almost no food

Really awful experience here yesterday, which was surprising to me because the Sapphire Lounge in Boston has been consistently great. The first problem was crowding; this one made the Centurion lounges before they started limiting guests look good. Not a single free seat on the first floor except at tables, and only a handful on the second (where there are no food or drink offerings; you have to leave your luggage unattended and go downstairs). The bigger problem was that there was almost no food at all. They were accepting online orders but had waits of an hour or more, which they didn't say anything about online. When I asked two different staff people they said the kitchen was backed up, said there was nothing they could do, and were unapologetic ("it just happens"). Consequently the self service food was also picked clean, with very little there (most gone and not replenished). The only consolation was that the bar service was fast so if you wanted to drink a lot that was an option.

I left after waiting for 45 mins for the food I ordered (a roast beef sandwich, nothing complicated), and went next door to the Centurion Lounge, which was less crowded and had food.

By the time I left the lounge they were limiting access, with a wait of an hour or so.

Hopefully this was a one-off, though if you have both cards not a big deal because the Centurion Lounge is literally at the same entryway from the terminal.
