- why would you want to get to a higher status if you plan to 'retire' from flying once you cross the milestone? Isn't the whole point of achieving status the benefits it will bring you hence?

In terms of status updates on existing reservations, I think based on prior posts that the status only shows on reservations booked after the threshold is reached...not sure if you can call in and have them adjust it, but I doubt it...pretty sure that status at time of booking is what will show on that booking.
Thanks!

I told the central concierge office while making a SDC to the itinerary. I was informed that it had been entered into the crm system so they could do something nice. Whatever that is, reading this thread it could be a card, a bottle of champagne, a porsche transfer. I didn’t actually expect anything, I got an on time flight and good service.

As for retiring from flying. I just want to know that I’ll be super elite forever, so that when I do travel I’ll have concierge service. I should really get the 200k rollover going and start banking years like many here do.

I made a new booking today to see if my status would be reflected, and it wasn’t. It’s also mentioned up thread that it takes a month or so to kick in. Looks like I’m still a bottom feeder super elite when it comes to the upgrade list, for the time being.

Probably a cheaper option but SS in YYZ and EK F Lounge in DXB would make some nice stopovers.
ATH-SYD could do it in 50 round trips for around $600k. Still outside of my price range though. Guess I'll keep doing my thing and flying within North America for work. It's going to be a long go!
