I have a 24-hour rental beginning this Saturday at DFW, and last night I received the following in an email:
We have an important update regarding your reservation at Dallas Fort Worth Int'l Airport.
Please note that you may experience delays at our car rental facility due to high demand between April 5th and April 9th. Here are some tips to get you on your way as quickly as possible:
First-Time Preferred Renters – Please visit the Avis Preferred booth upon arrival.
Existing Avis Preferred Members – Skip the line and proceed to your vehicle when you arrive (subject to availability). Download and use the Avis App to choose your car at time of pick-up.
Non-Preferred Members – Provide your information ahead of time with Avis PreCheck. This will shorten your time at the counter and speed up the line.
I looked at getting to switch my car type and I got the limited availability message (a.k.a. sold out). Apparently I booked a hybrid so I'm just hoping they have a vehicle for me. I'm PC and am using a relatively lucrative corporate contract, though I used to be PC at Hertz and have been left high and dry with them.
