The room didn'tsuck, honestly! There was a pair of men's socks for sale via the mini-bar tray on top of the fridge, which was one of the oddities, alongside the oddly located bathroom. Sorry, But all was fine comfort-wise. I was fat-finger post-writing on my phone.

My room was large and comfortable but was oddly laid out. I like the hotel. It's a tad quirky but for me it's a good location, though i recognise it won't suit everyone. Trams and buses are on the doorstep, more or less. The tram line takes you past the bazaar, through the central tourist area of Sultanahmet to the ferry docks and Galata bridge .... and beyond. The trams can be horribly crowded, but they are frequent and if you have the patience to wait for the next (and maybe the next) you'll probably find one with some free space.

The tram is also handy to get to metro (Veznecilar station, a short walk from the Laleli stop). This can take you quickly across to Taksim and (eventually) to the airport. Maybe an easier route between hotel and airport is via the Yusufpasa tram stop and the dedicated airport bus operated by Havaist from Aksaray

And of course what the hotel does offer is good value accommodation.
