Almost everytime I fly into CAE, I can see my house. It is pretty easy compared to previous houses as I am 3.5 blocks off an interstate exit.

I can't remember if it was approach to JFK or LGA, but I could see the house I grew up in, the local pool, my high school, and other famiiar haunts.

Once you know what a landmark looks like from the air and how things looks near it, its easy.

Spacial relations are difficult with some people. I was able to help some seatmates "see" some things for the first time.
