Correct. I was stuck at SOU all morning, as one flight after another to AMS was canceled. Booked a ticket on BD out of LHR, caught a cab, and a few minutes from the airport it was sunny and clear! There was patchy mist en route, but as soon as we reached LHR the fog closed in again. Many, if not most, BA flights from terminal 1 (what a dump!) had been canceled, whereas other airlines were still flying, albeit with delays. Finally took off at 5.30 p.m., and as soon as the aircraft climbed out of the fog, I could see that most of London was enjoying clear skies.
