I also agree with this. Take it to small claims if you have to and see what a judge thinks.. everyone knows the reason to fly first class is for a bed.. if you’re in an upright seat then it may as well be economy (yes seriously). I would be aiming for the fare difference to Y too (not J… that would have given you a nice bed). The £30 meal, the £40 lounge access, the £30 of drinks and the direct aisle access with no neighbour can be considered compensation on top of the refund.
There’s no way BA will offer this however without taking it to court. So may be worth seeing what the max you can get from them is first and if you are happy with it.
