Really, both brands are good. I think it comes down to personal preference on specs and details - handle length or pocket placement, that kind of thing. I forgot I still have an EC rolling duffle - forgot because I haven't checked a bag since pre-COVID.

eta: I didn't know about that ownership change. I would be watching reviews closely to make sure there's no cost-cutting going on.
