The folks who are TLV-based but give BA a UK address to e.g. collect Avios on Amex are playing the system. Not criticising them for doing this, but they can't expect the benefits extended to those with Israeli addresses when it suits them (or for someone to take the time to find them in the database and make an exception for them). Also, if someone is already tied into the executive club via Amex earnings, the business case for free status is weaker.
Read my post carefully. I was not complaining that my status had not been extended. I was explaining that the non extension of status for certain categories of BAEC members indicated that BA had NOT done their homework properly vis a vis the demographics of the route. Why is it necessary to assume that every large business always makes correct decisions? I make a good deal of my living by identifying large companies which make bad decisions based on a lack of understanding of (some or all of) their customer base.
