Advice: Should I offer RTW Booking services?
I have been a longtime lurker and purchaser of RTW tickets having taken advantage of serveral amazing deals from South Africa, Seoul, Sri Lanka, Cairo etc. I've usually booked thru the AA RTW desk or (1 time) the oneworld.com RTW booking tool. In a previous life, I worked as a corporate travel agent with SABRE - and have maintained a "side business" as an independent sales agent for a Host Travel Agency, but more as a hobby than a true business. So, I've now booked several RTWs thru SABRE ex-CAI for friends and family - who are willing to accept my restrictions (specifically that it'll take me time to respond since it's not my full time job).
As I've seen the people struggling with QF/AA/BA etc. on the forum, I'm wondering if I were to offer this service to the forum regulars, if folks would be willing to do this. There's a service fee I'd have to charge for my time - say $150 (original) and ($75 per change), if all I do is book a well thought out itinerary, and it would increase for consultation/design of itineraries etc.
When I've done the bookings myself, I've realized the savings over the AA desk are significant - esp. because of surcharges/taxes with QR or CX being so much lower. TBH, I don't want this as my full time job, but can't offer it for no compensation either - so feedback would be very appreciated? Would you be willing to pay - even if that meant you're dealing with a "part time agent". I think once ticketed and first segment is flown, you can always call the operating airline to make changes etc - so you don't have to depend on my responsiveness etc. - but happy to hear from anyone more experienced.
Thanks
