Any feedback on Mandarin Oriental, Shangri-La or Kimpton? Or maybe the Grand Mayfull?
I stayed at both the Kimpton da’an and the Grand Hyatt two weeks ago. If you like modern/ trendy I think you will be happier at the Kimpton for sure. Read the posts- the layout is a bit bizzare as you walk right into the bathroom and there’s little privacy, if you don’t mind that I think you’ll be happier at the Kimpton. I had to pay for breakfast at Kimpton so only ate there one day, (Tavernist is Michelin star mention well deserved, their dinner was great too) but thought the food quality was higher than the Hyatt which I thought was decent, neither terrible nor spectacular (I just consider myself fortunate to get breakfast as a globalist). Spent very little time in the club lounge due to exploring city. (They told me no suites available)

The two hotels are both nice but have totally different vibe and location, my personal tastes would be to go to the Kimpton (modern/ trendy, more personalized service, terrific neighborhood; the hyatt is near luxury shopping and feels more sterile but was a close walk to my grandparents and elephant mountain). There are a lot of modern, hip restaurants nearby the hyatt (try Chope Chope or Gumbai social).

You will be happy at either but I think you might also like the Kimpton more. Why not try both like I did?
