Same entrance, same staff, same front desk, same elevators, same facilities in terms of pool/fitness center; but I agree separate threads are good as the HOTEL participates in Bonvoy and the RESIDENCES does not. The info graphic that James Luckard posted is correct in that the Renaissance RESIDENCES are just higher floors of same building.

(The SKY Condos have a separate entrance as they are a separate tower, but they also share the same pool/fitness center as the HOTEL and Renaissance RESIDENCES.)
