But my travel partner (no status, wealthy, generally just stays at high end hotels) is worried the hotel may be dated. Is there a better option? I don’t really feel like splurging on something like the Mandarin Oriental, only to then be out in the boonies.
Is the hotel really that dated? He prefers modern hotels like the Park Hyatt Bangkok and also appreciates a nice view, maybe a nice bar at the hotel.
Edit: How generous is the GH with suite upgrades without using a SUA?
It’s serviceable and not too terribly dated. To be frank, for a large city, Taipei doesn’t have any nice modern options. Arguably Le Meridien and W may somewhat count.
