Between my wife and I we travel with a small pharmacy, so just curious whether they actually dig through the bags and go through things like prescription bottles. Some of the medications are no doubt not available in Qatar (pain, anxiety, sleep) and I plan on leaving them in their actual prescription bottles and also bringing a formal note from my doctors explaining each medication and what it is for. Also, the quantity would not be large and just enough to cover our time in the Maldives. Having said that, this makes me a bit nervous. Even if they just discarded certain medications, that would be major issue as it could be dangerous to simply stop taking certain of these medications for the duration of our trip. Any feedback is much appreciated.
I have three different experiences:
1. We parked the aircraft at the gate and we disembarked directly to the terminal. No security at all
2. Busses took us to the transit gate. There we had to pass the security. Nobody even check if the boarding passes are valid. All they carred was the colour - burgundy and silver went to a fast track. White the regular one. We kept everything in our bags. When I looked around nobody was stopped for extra checks. No idea what they were checking with those scanners.
3. Busses took us to gate C80 (or 81?) and only the passengers with connecting flights were let into the terminal. We ended up in The Garden area. Again, no security.
I guess if you have the formal notes from your doctors it should be fine (if case they'd ask or stop you)
