Had a good try of it on a ATH-LHR flight yesterday.

Whatsapp + Telegram worked just fine. Notifications for other apps (e.g. Instagram and Slack) came in but the app wouldn't load, so I could receive messages but not send them.

Google seems to be blocked, but other websites do load, albeit very slowly.
