I live in Dutchess County. Have had dinner at Troutbeck. There is nothing to do in the area. Wildflower Auberge units appear to be very close together and look at a meadow. Mirabeau Inn and Spa is right in town in Rhinebeck. You can drive to Hyde Park to see the Culinary and FDR home and library. Inn at Bellefield recently opened, it’s a Marriott so if you are a points person that might be a deal. It is across from the Culinary. There is always Mohonk Mountain House in the New Paltz area, Very old hotel, but there are those that love it. Going further north you have The Sagamore on Lake George. Beautiful hotel with a wonderful view. Crazy popular in the summer. Way further north is Lake Placid and then even further is The Point.
